๐Ÿ“Š 2025: the year of tracking what you wear

acteevism by Megan McSherry

DO YOU ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT'S IN YOUR CLOSET?

I started tracking what clothes I wore each day on January 1, 2023. And in January 2025 I am still going strong with my closet spreadsheet.

โ€‹

The most sustainable clothing is what's already in your closet - but I didn't actually know what was in my closet until I went through this closet audit exercise.

โ€‹

Here are just a few of the things I've learned:

๐Ÿ‘Ÿ how many clothing items I have in my closet (296)

๐Ÿ“Š how often I buy new clothes (way too often)

๐Ÿ†• whether I tend to buy clothes new or secondhand (43% new, 57% used)

๐ŸŒˆ what colors I wear most often (black, blue, and white)

๐Ÿฅ‡ the most worn items in my closet (my Genusee sunglasses are #1)

โœ… what percentage of my clothes have actually been worn (87%)

๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ all about my personal style (read this post)

and so much more.

I even do quarterly recaps on Instagram!

Ready to do a deep dive on your closet, personal style, & shopping habits?

I have all of the resources you could ever need right here: YouTube videos, spreadsheet templates, guides, example audits, & more.

Happy New Year & happy outfit tracking
